John Bunyan, the author of Pilgrim’s Progress, wrote an autobiographical book called, ‘Grace Abounding’. As you come to the end of this book John Bunyan is in prison and his wife, Elizabeth, is trying to procure his freedom.

What was the crime that he had committed that caused him to be put into prison and labeled a pestilent-fellow and a disturber of the peace?

What had he done that resulted in him being hat...

This week, Gerry Sandel will be putting out three Sunday School devotionals which pertain to Mark 13. Mark 13:1-2 says, “And as He came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Look, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!’ And Jesus said to him, ‘Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”

  • I wonder...

Our text this morning is found in Ephesians 2:11-22. (14-18)

Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the worl...

One of the things that I have been doing during this time of self-isolation is that I watch old Survivor episodes and then Jon Moe and I discuss them in view of our faith. There is no doubt that it would be a hard game to play while maintaining your faith and a good conscience.

In the season that I am watching there is a lady who has done a really good job of living out her faith. It has not always been easy...

In the movie Captain America, Steve Rogers asks Dr. Erskine, “Why me?” Steve wants to know why he has been chosen for the honor of going through the program that will turn him into ‘Captain America’. Steve knows that he is the least deserving of all the candidates.

Dr. Erskine says to him, “A strong man, who has known power all his life, may loose respect for that power; but a weak man knows the value of str...

I would like to begin this morning with the account in Matthew of the Resurrection of Jesus. Let us consider Matthew 28:1-10,

Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was li...

Our text this morning is in Ephesians 2:1-10.

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath,...

Our text is found in Ephesians 2:1-3. It states,

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrat...

15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to wh...

Mark and Valarie,

It would be hard to put into words the emotions that you have felt over the last few weeks.

  • Initially you tried to limit this wedding to the gathering together of around 125 people.

  • There were discussions about the food, the reception, the dance, the flowers, and this beautiful wedding.

  • All of that changed over night.

Discussions soon turned to how to cut down the size to jus...
