"I know that my REDEEMER lives, and that in the end HE will stand upon the earth." ~Job 19:25
Job's world had just come crashing down. He lived a clean life dedicated to the LORD; yet, everyone he loved was taken from him and he lost everything he owned. Despite the worst of life's miseries, Job did not curse GOD. He knew that he had a big GOD who was in control and that one day when all the suffering was over, he would understand more fully.
When Job proclaimed, "I know my REDEEMER lives" he was absolutely confident in this truth. He did not falter in his belief that GOD would be faithful right up to the end; HE was certain without the slightest doubt.
Job also proclaims the LORD as his personal REDEEMER. This tells me he had a personal relationship with GOD and because of this he had hope in the midst of his deep sorrow and grief.
Job also knew that his REDEEMER lives now....not in the past or only sometime in the distant future, but now and forevermore.
As we prepare to serve the Venezuelan Refugees this week, I can't help but think that many of them may have experienced loss similar to Job. They have left their homes, their careers, their possessions and possibly their family to flee for safety. Like Job, they too might not understand why. Without the saving grace of JESUS, they are lost and without hope.
But we know the end of the story..... "and that in the end HE will stand upon the earth". This news is too great not to share!
